Established in 2012, iPlans was one of the first online design companies. We have been using screen share technology since 2016 and are the first company to offer free online design sessions, but what does that mean?

What is a free online design session?

Do we just talk generally about your project. You might wonder if you are talking to a call centre and sales person, who knows very little about planning, building regulations, structural calculations, party wall, building over drains and other specifics relating to your project.

None of the above!

iPlans provide 2 free design sessions. The first session is where we discuss your scheme in detail so that we can understand your exact project requirements. This will take about 20 minutes and if you have a front and rear image of your house available, a current set of floor plans or estate agents plans this will be really useful. A satellite image of your house, completes all the information that we need at this stage. This will allow our Town Planner to provide a free of charge review of your planning requirements. We will look at recent precedents on your road, download drawings of neighbours projects where available and also detail local planning policy for your area, based on the councils planning guidelines. We will also try and ascertain if your permitted development rights are intact, if you are in a Conservation Area or under an Article 4 direction. All of this is carried out free of charge.

The second online design session, will cover all of these points. We can also discuss building regulations, structural calculations, building over agreements and party wall, specific to your project. We have library drawings of similar projects that we can share with you for extensions and loft conversions, again free of charge. A detailed proposal will be be provided which shows our 4 stage process, which includes staying with you free of charge through the build process. The second design session usually takes between 20-30 minutes
